Book Genre: True Story. I chose to read this book for two reasons, I grew up with Tim and I was featured in it. I found the book easy to read and I was so captivated that I skipped sleeping, drank lots of coffee and read it in one sitting. It is written in a way that even if you don't know Tim or Chiredzi or even Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, you will not have a problem relating to the events that surround his life story. It is engaging, witty and gets across the message of the life Rhodesians lived in that era as told by a boy who grew into a young man through the war era.
Books of this genre, tend to be long winded and become a boring monologue, which one cannot wait to end. Lowveld Snow was a book where each chapter is in itself a short story. When I got to the end I was left wanting more and thinking "OK bring on the sequel of the rest of your life Tim."
Having known Tim over the years despite a small age difference and years of loss of contact in between, I can say the book was pure Tim.
